Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

To use paid features, you must create an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. If you discover unauthorized use, tell us at support@sarthiai.com immediately.

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

Plans. Vaak is offered on three paid plans: Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime. Monthly and Yearly plans auto-renew at the end of each billing period. Lifetime is a one-time payment with no renewals.

Free trial. New accounts start with a 7-day free trial of Pro features. No credit card is required for the trial. After the trial ends, you will be moved to the free tier automatically.

Free tier. The free tier provides up to 60 minutes of transcription per month. Usage resets on the 1st of each month. Exceeding the limit requires a paid plan or waiting for the reset.

Billing. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record. You will be charged in the currency shown at checkout. Prices may vary by country.

Auto-renewal. Monthly and Yearly subscriptions automatically renew at the same plan and price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

Cancellation. You may cancel any subscription at any time from your account page. Cancellation stops auto-renewal; you retain access until the end of the current billing period, after which you move to the free tier.

Price changes. We may change prices at any time. Existing subscribers will be notified by email at least 30 days before a price change affects their billing.

If Vaak is not working for you, email us at support@sarthiai.com within 7 days of your purchase and we will issue a full refund. No questions asked.

After 7 days, refunds are at our discretion and typically granted only in cases of billing errors or service outages.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Vaak app on devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use, for the duration of your active subscription (or forever for Lifetime plans).

You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
• Resell, sublicense, rent, or lease the Service.
• Use the Service to build a competing product.
• Circumvent any technical limitations (for example, usage limits or authentication).
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to transcribe content you do not have the right to transcribe.

Vaak, its name, logo, interface, and underlying software are owned by Chirotpal Das and protected by intellectual property laws. The SarthiAI brand name and associated marks are also owned by us. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.

You retain ownership of everything you transcribe. Because transcription happens entirely on your device, we never see your content and we claim no rights over it.

You are solely responsible for what you transcribe using Vaak. You agree not to use Vaak to record or transcribe conversations without the consent of all parties, where such consent is required by law in your jurisdiction.

We may release updates to the Vaak app from time to time. Some updates may be required to continue using the Service. We may modify or discontinue features, but we will give you reasonable notice of material changes.

We do not guarantee 100% uptime. The desktop app works fully offline once installed, but account management, sign-in, and billing require our backend services, which may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or due to outages.

You may close your account at any time from your account page. Upon closure, your data is deleted within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements for billing records.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or engage in fraudulent activity. In such cases we will notify you where practicable and refund any unused portion of a paid subscription, unless the termination results from clear fraud or abuse.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose of the Service.

Transcription accuracy depends on audio quality, accent, background noise, and the underlying AI model. Vaak may produce errors. Do not rely on Vaak for any purpose where an inaccurate transcription could cause harm without human review.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Where applicable consumer protection law does not permit such a limit, our liability is limited to the minimum amount allowed by that law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example, liability for fraud or gross negligence).

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claims, damages, or reasonable expenses that directly arise from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your use of the Service in a way that violates applicable law. This obligation does not apply to the extent such claims arise from our own wrongdoing.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

This does not override mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence, which may give you additional rights.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, stop using the Service. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
