Terms of Service

Vaak is available to anyone able to form a binding agreement under applicable law. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly provide the Service to them.

Vaak is provided free of charge. There is no account to create, no sign-up, no subscription, and no payment of any kind. We do not ask for a credit card and we do not bill you. Every feature, and every future update, is free.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Vaak app on devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use, free of charge.

You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.
• Resell, sublicense, rent, or lease the Service.
• Use the Service to build a competing product.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to transcribe content you do not have the right to transcribe.

Vaak, its name, logo, interface, and underlying software are owned by Chirotpal Das and protected by intellectual property laws. The SarthiAI brand name and associated marks are also owned by us. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.

You retain ownership of everything you transcribe. Because transcription happens entirely on your device, we never see your content and we claim no rights over it.

You are solely responsible for what you transcribe using Vaak. You agree not to use Vaak to record or transcribe conversations without the consent of all parties, where such consent is required by law in your jurisdiction.

We may release updates to the Vaak app from time to time, and they are free. You can download the latest version from vaak.sarthiai.com at any time.

The Vaak app works fully offline once installed and does not depend on any backend service from us, so it keeps working even if our website is unavailable. We may modify or discontinue features, but we will give you reasonable notice of material changes.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose of the Service.

Transcription accuracy depends on audio quality, accent, background noise, and the underlying AI model. Vaak may produce errors. Do not rely on Vaak for any purpose where an inaccurate transcription could cause harm without human review.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Vaak is provided to you free of charge. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us for the Service, which is zero. Where applicable consumer protection law does not permit such a limit, our liability is limited to the minimum amount allowed by that law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example, liability for fraud or gross negligence).

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any third-party claims, damages, or reasonable expenses that directly arise from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your use of the Service in a way that violates applicable law. This obligation does not apply to the extent such claims arise from our own wrongdoing.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

This does not override mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence, which may give you additional rights.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, stop using the Service. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
